Frozen II: Before you go, Before you go…
Heading to see Frozen 2 in the theater? Catch-up on all-things Frozen, because “All Is Found” on Disney+
With thousands of titles to watch across streaming media, it is highly likely that even the most ardent streamers still like to catch their favorite type of flicks at the cinema.
For myself, I happen to be a huge Disney Theme Park fan, so it was only natural that I would buy Disney+ at launch and thanks to the promo offer given to D23 members, it was even sweeter to subscribe for 3 years at about 33% less. I grew up on Disney! The first film I ever saw in the movie theatre was Walt Disney’s Bambi (1942) with my mom. I have found memories of Saturday matinees of Sleeping Beauty (1959) to Star Wars (1977) which later became part of Disney.
Beyond deep cuts like Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) and The Black Hole (1979), all of the fantastic Disney Animation and Pixar films… my primary draw to Disney+ is the promise of original Marvel content (coming in 2020) and the delivery, in a big way, of Star Wars programming with the all-new series, The Mandalorian (2019) and the upcoming conclusion to The Clone Wars (2020).
All of this being said… One thing I really enjoy doing, before seeing a film on the BIG screen, is to watch its earlier instalments on the small screen. Since Disney CEO Bob Iger astutely acquired Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox, it is highly likely that Disney+ will become my go-to for such re/pre-viewing parties in advance of the latest Hollywood Blockbuster instalments, projecting in IMAX or 3D on movie screens. One recent example of this, is Frozen (2013).
I have not seen Frozen since it debuted in theatres 6 years ago. While I enjoyed the film, it is not one that I would buy. Were it not for Disney+, I would not have had the chance to revisit the material before going to see Frozen II (2019) the other night. Added to this, Disney+ contains rich bonus features that one would likely find if they owned the BluRay or DVD, with two other treats that I would not have experienced without the streaming service. These came in the form of the Disney Christmas Special: Olaf’s Frozen Adventure (2017) which was quite fun and LEGO Frozen Northern Lights (2016) that I have yet to watch, but will check out at some point because I also happen to be a LEGO fan.
With Christmas just around the corner Disney+ will certainly come in handy with classics such as the Home Alone and Santa Clause trilogies, along with The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) and more… The Star Wars fan in me, has already begun the marathon of watching Episodes I-VIII+ (though I had to turn to Netflix for SOLO: A Star Wars Story and The Last Jedi due to prior licensing agreements) in advance of the global release of Star Wars, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker on December 20, 2019. More on that in my next post. Until then, I will continue humming AH-AH-AH-AHH…AH-AH from the new Frozen II song, “Into The Unknown” performed by Idina Menzel & AURORA.
I look forward to your JoulePepper rating of my JouleView about “Frozen II: Before you go, Before you go…” and I’d love to read your comments in the JouleStream section, below. Let’s make it a discussion! Do you feel that Frozen is the best of modern Disney Animation? I do! Based on what I shared above, I give both Frozen 1 & 2, a 5 out of 5 JoulePeppers – they’re Spicy–Hot! Olaf would love this rating as he longs for Summer!…

I love how the story ended in Frozen II where, Elsa finally let go of her fears from her magic and evolves into the 5th spirit that unites fire, earth, wind and water. It also ends well for Queen Anna. Lovely! Isn’t it? The 2 installments are heartwarming indeed. They are more focused on family love than romantic love which kids movies should be all about. I also binge watch other Disney Princesses movies.:)
