Review Coming Soon: Having played almost every LEGO TT Games / WB Games titles, starting with LEGO Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith to LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Indiana Jones, LEGO Batman and LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I am looking forward to this long-delayed title that should have come out in December 2019 when Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker hit movie theaters.Â
Initial promos for the game, billed it as the “Complete Skywalker Saga” which is perhaps too ambitions a title and possibly the reason for the 1 year delay? While a release date has not yet been set, it’s marked as Spring 2021. Look for my review as soon as it’s out… Speaking of, check out Wikipedia for more details on the release:
On 7 May 2020, the release date was mentioned as 20 October 2020[9] through the Star Wars YouTube channel. On the same day, the original video was made private and a new video, in which the release date was cut out, was uploaded. This date was not otherwise confirmed. On 26 August 2020, the Lego website displayed the release date as being 2021, but the website was taken down. It has since been updated to remove any suggestion of a release year. The following day at the 2020 Gamescom Opening Night Live, it was announced that the game would release in Q1/Q2 2021 under the description of “Spring 2021” with additional versions on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The game will be available in a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes the Character Collection bundle, which collects six character packs based around characters from outside of the Skywalker Saga, which consists of packs from The Mandalorian, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Solo: A Star Wars Story, the forthcoming series Star Wars: The Bad Batch and a pack containing Classic Characters.
The retail Deluxe Edition will come with an exclusive Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk minifigure, and different box art showcasing Darth Vader, with his mask being removable by lifting up the included slipcase. Physical Deluxe editions will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and an Xbox version which can function as both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions depending on which console it is played on. A steelbook resembling Han Solo in Carbonite is included in the Deluxe Edition bundle if pre-ordered from the retailer Game in the United Kingdom, this is also included with all pre-orders of both editions if bought through Best Buy in Canada and the United States
For now, based on the trailer, the exclusive LEGO Star Wars “Blue Milk” Luke Skywalker Minifigure and an exclusive Han Solo in Carbonate steelbook case, I’ll rate my anticipation score at 4 JoulePeppers – it’s possibly Hot!
