Review: Ryan Reynolds appearance, in the Netflix original, 6 UNDERGROUND, surprised me, when it popped-up in the “Recently Added” and “Trending Now” categories back in 2019 as I was unaware of the production. It kicked off, for me, what I was quickly coming to realize, that it, along with other titles that I will soon review, such as The Irishman, Extraction, The Old Guard, Triple Frontier and News of The World…that Netflix has the best variety of first rate, blockbuster originals AND they do not carry the annoying Premier Access… premium of Disney+.
While 6 UNDERGROUND is not the greatest film of all-time, it was an enjoyable, Action-Comedy due to Reynolds sarcastic, third wall breaking performance that he has become known for. While not the best of the films I mentioned in the opening, it was high-octane caper, with fantastical action sequences, a plot twist that I will not spoil and well paced direction by famed director Michael Bay, who delivered a far better product that we witnessed in Transformers: The Last Knight. I recommend adding it to your Netflix watch-list the next time, giving it a Watch, you are in the mood for an Action-Spy-Thriller with good doses of Humor, pinched into the recipe.
