As I said in the subheading, if Lifetime, ever produced a Marine Iguana vs. Gorilla Drama, this would be that, Made-For-TV movie, but that does not mean this spectacular ‘Creature Feature’ was not a delight to behold on the big screen. This is how I summarized to a friend after watching this film on the biggest screen I could find. As a childhood fan of Saturday morning / afternoon Creature Double Features that showcased Godzilla, Gamera, Giant Robot and other Japanese 50’s-60’s classic heroes, the chance, as an adult, to see these titans duke it out with state of the art CGI, what is not to love?
I am both jealous and delighted that the kids of today, have these new ‘classics’ to enjoy. While this film will not win any awards from the acting or the script of the live action characters, that’s not why anyone should or is likely to go to this film or later watch on streaming. Call these modern monster movies, for what they are, a guilty pleasure!
